Concealed Carry Can Be Discouraging
Did I mention that this can be a discouraging process? Shooting in and of itself can get discouraging, especially as you’re striving to better your abilities. It can feel like, “I should already be at ____ point.”
.
Concealed carry is entirely another beast and especially as a beginner there can be a massive learning curve. What holster conceals best? What is comfortable? What is safe? What gun should I get? How many rounds do I need? Should I have a knife, pepper spray, etc etc. How fast should my draw speed be? The list literally goes ON AND ON. Honestly...after a year of concealed carry feeling like a breeze I’m struggling with the nuances of concealing. My standard for “concealed” seems to have changed as well as my standard for comfort, and the number of tools I have has increased. I’m going to be doing this for the rest of my life...I want my set up to be realistic and comfortable. That means something entirely different for each person. I can’t tell you what to get, nobody can. It IS going to be a process. Just go into it expecting that. Your concealed carry set up will absolutely change as you grow and learn and that’s totally okay. Whatever you do...just don’t give up on the process. Self protection is a vital skill, don’t forget why you started this journey.
