What Should I Wear to the Range?

I remember my FIRST trip to the range. It also happened to be my first date with my now husband. I wanted to look cute, but I also had no idea what I was *suppose to wear when going to the range. So thought it made sense to wear jeans (even though it was 100 degrees), sneakers and a tank top. Which worked just fine for that trip, but I have since learned many lessons the hard way and I’d like to spare you the pain I’ve endured 😂
.
Outfit number 1 is a perfect example of what NOT to wear to the range. My tank top is low cut, I’m not wearing a hat and my shirt is tight fitting and tucked in niiiice and tight. Let me explain why this is wrong:
-Low cut shirt will almost certainly result in you getting burn marks in your bra if you know what I mean. Not only can this be SO painful, but if you’re a new shooter then you are likely to forget ALL safety rules while trying to remove the hot brass from your now burning skin.
-Theres nothing wrong with wearing a tight tucked in shirt UNLESS you are wearing a kydex IWB holster that is open ended at the bottom. This is how you get hot brass in your UNDERWEAR. Horrible I know...but its happened to me and it was noooot fun. Just trust me and untuck you’re shirt.
-It’s important to wear a hat while shooting so that you can avoid getting brass BEHIND your glasses. This one never happened to me but I have heard many stories of this happening to others (resulting in multiple ND’s).
**I’ve included some video to show you how brass might affect you in different outfits.
.
Outfit number 2 shows a high neck shirt, untucked, with eye pro, ear pro and a hat 👍🏻
.
Stay safe out there ladies, and dress accordingly when you’re headed to the range! ✌🏼
