Accessories Matter

Accessories can play an important role in C O N C E A L M E N T. Let me go ahead and make the assumption that you’ve been able to dial in every vital part of your concealment. You’ve got the grip of your gun tucked in nice and close to your body, printing is almost a non issue, but you want something more to help drive it all home for you. In comes accessories, especially for us ladies, this can be a fun one to dive into🎉

This week I stopped into a thrift store for a few minutes to browse and I found this gorgeous navy leather jacket and of course had to have it. I use to have a black one, but it was just too hard to wear. Anyways, I thought it would make for the perfect piece to draw the eyes A W A Y from my gun, but that it was also subtle enough to wear as the weather changes from freezing, to breezy to full blown summer in a matter of hours (desert weather for ya lol).

Concealed carrying is not just about hiding a gun under your shirt. It’s also about not looking “the part”. I saw a guy decked out in 5.11 gear at the store the other day and both hubs and I looked at each and exchanged a “he’s definitely carrying a gun” look 👀

When you see a gal wearing white jeans, nude heels and a leather jacket, do you think “gun” or do you think, “where did she get that jacket and those shoes!?” (Mainly talkin to the ladies on that one, sorry guys haha). The point is not that you need to dress to the nines or even look put together every single day, I certainly don’t, the point is that you want to dress the way you want to be perceived by the strangers around you. I don’t want to be perceived as the “gun gal” and cute accessories help me to achieve that. 💕
